Michael trained at LAMDA and Middlesex University. As an actor he has worked extensively in theatre and television.  Television includes roles in BBC's Casualty, Bad Company, Emmerdale, Lucky Man for SKY/NBC, Doctors, Hollyoaks, and he will soon be seen in Slow Horses for Apple TV. 

As a director he has worked both on London's West End, regionally and on national tours. He is experienced in classics, new writing, devised work and musical theatre. He was nominated for Best Director in the 2016/17 Broadway World Awards for This Little Life of Mine at The Park Theatre London.  He directed the critically acclaimed Late Company at The Finborough and then for it's West End transfer at Trafalgar Studios. The show was shortlisted for Best New Play 2017 at the Broadway World Awards and was a finalist at the Off West End Awards.

 For his theatre writing he won an award in the 2020 Wexford Literary Festival (Best International Short Play) and has received multiple award nominations for his other work including Best New Musical at Broadway World Awards for This Little Life of Mine at The Park Theatre London, Best New Musical at the Off West End Awards and Best Musical Production at The Broadway World Awards.

He is a founder member of Stage Traffic Productions with producer Eilene Davidson whose work has included 3 Women by Katy Brand and staring Anita Dobson and Guide for the Homesick by Ken Urban with Douglas Booth.

Throughout his career in the performing arts Michael has also worked with organisations and individuals as a communication and personal impact consultant. Clients include The Arts Council, Novo Nordisk, Cordless Consultants, BBC, Brown Bag Films, Department of Education, Essex University, CIPD, Yahoo, NEC, Vodaphone and Sony.
